Ducont WINS at the Microsoft RAD Awards 2003!
Ducont’s
Mobile Payments application – mDirham - has won the ‘Special
Award – Most Innovative’ category at the fourth Microsoft
European Retail Application Developer (RAD) Awards that were held
this year in Paris on April 9, 2003. The other nominees in this
category for the 2003 RAD Awards were Marks & Spencer and
QSA (both from the United Kingdom). Last year’s winners
in the same category were Unipower Solutions Europe.
About mDirham
Ducont’s mDirham (or Mobile Dirham) is an innovative,
bilingual (Arabic and English) payments solution that promotes
mobile commerce using the latest wireless technology. The application
superiority stems from the fact that mDirham has brought the general
retailers and the government together to have a common payment
platform for their services. Consumers can now dynamically shop
for goods of even small values while merchants are not burdened
with the high cost of transactions that erodes their profit margin.
mDirham is a secure, speedy and simple solution that is set to
revolutionize online payments and m-commerce.
About
the Awards
Year after year, innovative software developers, working both
at independent firms and within the IT departments of retail organisations,
create applications and solutions that deliver impressive business
value to the retail community. Microsoft is pleased to sponsor
the RAD Awards Program, which seeks to identify and honour such
developers for their accomplishments.
The Microsoft European RAD Awards 2003 dinner was held in conjunction
with the Global Retail Technology Forum in Paris, France, on the
evening of Wednesday 9th April 2003. At that time, the RAD Award
winners were announced in an exclusive awards ceremony.
